The "be FREE!" Project empowers youth, families, and the Hopkinton community to recognize the impact of and proactively address the diverse issues surrounding substance use and abuse.
We each play a vital role in identifying and harnessing the strengths present in our community that enhance resiliency and buffer our youth from risks they encounter.
We believe that:
Collaboration is critical to success. Collaboration among and between youth, families, and community (schools, police, agencies, etc…) is essential in creating an environment for support and change.
The solution is both community-based and long-term. There is no silver bullet for substance abuse prevention, intervention, or treatment.
Strategies for youth substance abuse prevention should be rooted in science. Our strategies are based upon best practice approaches in the field.
